- Peppermint has anti-inflammatory properties and contains compounds such as menthol and rosmarinic acid that have been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects which help heal facial skin barrier issues. These compounds may reduce inflammation by inhibiting the production of inflammatory signaling molecules and suppressing the activity of certain enzymes that contribute to inflammation. Peppermint is often used to relieve symptoms of inflammation, such as swelling, pain, and redness.
- Tea Tree Oil has anti-inflammatory properties. It contains compounds such as terpinen-4-ol and alpha-pinene that have been shown to reduce inflammation. It has been traditionally used for its anti-inflammatory effects and is commonly used topically to treat skin barrier conditions such as acne, eczema, psoriasis and perioral dermatitis.

Harvested just over the mountains from us in Oregon, meadowfoam seed oil is known to work in a similar way to the sebum the skin produces naturally, which makes it particularly effective at sealing in moisture. It's also light and not oily so it helps to balance the skin's natural oil production, contributing to a more healthy skin barrier.

Meadowfoam is a modern discovery and at present native to Oregon and California. Known as the "secret flower" little has been documented on this member of the Limnanthes alba family. Our Meadowfoam Rose Flower Facial Serum is combination of Meadowfoam seed oil, rose flower and aloe extract so we decided to share the plant profile of Aloe.
